About

Hello and welcome! I’m Diana

I grow many plants – primarily the edible kind.

Largely in containers.

I created this site as a way to explore and share info and tips from my own personal gardening experience, and any related topics.

Location information

Currently, most of my writing is about gardening in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. I’m on the border of a USDA 9b/10a zone, Sunset zone 17, on the hills of Vallejo + Benicia.

I grew up around the East Bay, so I’m familiar with how varied the microclimates and soil structures can be in different locales here.

If you’re looking for specific gardening advice, I encourage using your local resources such as university extensions or community garden organizations.

More about me

Growing plants has been my fun thing to do since childhood.

My favorites to grow are edible plants just for the obvious usefulness, and other utilitarian plants. However, I do have a big soft spot for ornamentals.

One of the best parts of growing our own fruits and veggies is seeing my toddler pick and devour fruits with great glee, straight off the plants!
